Summary

The classic examples of technological progress are mainly industrial revolutions and are often discussed through the 4th world technological revolution stage. The notion, that scientific and technological progress has an impact on the economy, is changing human life and the structure or size of the employment market has been supported and validated by numerous studies. However, like all events, technological progress has both positive and negative consequences. It is the critical discussion of technological progress that is the aim of the authors in the present paper, to achieve and in which the desk research method has been selected. The paper analyzes the secondary statistical information, based on which the perspectives, challenges and trends of the construction sector, as one of the largest employers in the country, are shown on the example of Georgia and Argentina. The paper provides some basis for further research and will be of interest to anyone interested in this field.

Technological development is an integral part of modern life, there is almost no field that is not affected by it. At the same time, it should be noted that high-tech production has a great potential for its establishment in international markets, in the case of small countries. It is also important to emphasize that technology transfer has become much easier in the context of globalization. When foreign investment enters the country, it is automatically followed by technology and knowledge. It is therefore important that countries with underdeveloped economies adequately grasp and use this goodness.

Technological progress has made human work easier, at least the computer can be cited as an example, not to mention the numerous achievements of robots and artificial intelligence. Technology is a great help to people in hard work, but it should also be noted that many professions may no longer exist in the future and be replaced by automation. In the long run, the process gives us reason to think that the structure of the employment market may change considerably.

The construction sector is growing faster in Georgia and the world, and due to its nature, technologies are carrying out fundamental transformations in this field. Starting with the construction planning and modeling process that an architect can already do without a sheet of paper, ending with green construction that allows environmental impact to be reduced and eco-friendly buildings to become an integral part of the world of the future.

These issues make the present study relevant and trending in terms of study and analysis while highlighting the main purpose of this paper is to analyze the Georgian and international experience in terms of identifying prospects for technological development of the construction sector. The issues are analyzed in close connection with employment, because the construction sector is the main employer in the Georgian employment market, in 2020, the number of representatives in the total number of employees was 7%. However, it should be noted that the specificity of the field is characterized by the fact that a high level of education is not necessary to start a job, which is even more noticeable in the example of a country with social problems.
